Mokum Mail Monthly Magazine. March 1st, 2008.

Thanks for your support!
by Joop Blokker

Last month we sent you information about our campaign to get Mokum Mail known to the world. We asked you to go to the Tell A Friend Page and send some of the prefab e-mails to family & friends or print and pin the business cards on your local Wally Mart's bulletin board. Thanks to y'all who did this, it's VERY appreciated - Now I am just waiting for the brave pilot who throws millions of Mokie business cards out of his airplane over New York, London, Paris and all the great cities in this world..!

But perhaps when you send our Press Release - click here to download the zipped text file - as an e-mail message to your local paper or any computer magazine or to your Computer Club, it's less work and equally effective!! Just send the file MM-PRESS-RELEASE.TXT as an attachment to a one-line message with subject "PRESS RELEASE". That may work wonders! Thanks in advance!!!

GIVE YOUR E-MAIL WINGS WITH MOKUM MAIL

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 1 March 2008 - Newly released - Mokum Mail v6.0 - POP3 E-mail client, HTML editor and web browser all in one program for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista users. This program allows you to access your E-mail while it is still on the server, where you can read the messages, reply, and delete unwanted mail before downloading anything to your computer.

Regardless of your Internet connection speed, your degree of knowledge in computers, or your primary reason for using E-mail to communicate, Mokum Mail has features to fit all user levels. Among the many new features in version 6.0 are the ability to listen to the text of incoming messages, as well as record an outgoing voice message using your computer's microphone.

For the more advanced user, Mokum Mail has an HTML editor that allows you to write and save your own E-mail scripts or design and create stationery themes. Scripts and themes can be used for business, education or mail to friends and family. The newly designed Theme window gives you a thumbnail preview of each, which makes it quick and easy to select one for a message.
The program sells at a retail price of US$39.90 and registration includes an invitation to join the Mokum Mail Academy which will guide you in using the features of the program in 10 lessons. You will also be invited to join the Mokum Café at Yahoo Groups, which is a gathering of other MM users to share creations, experiences, and discuss different ways of using the program.

Additionally, you gain free access to over a thousand pre-made stationery designs, saved in the exclusive MMF (Mokum Mail Format). A fully functional 30-day trial version is available from the developer's website. Please visit http://www.mokummail.nl for more information about this program.

Screen captures of the program are available upon request. You are invited to download and install the 30-Day trial version and view the INFO (Help) files which are very extensive and should answer any questions you might have.

One to many... the easy way!
by Karen Shirron

Reading a comment the other day from a Mokum Cafe user prompted me to review a feature that I think many have forgotten about!

USING A GROUP FILE NAME WHEN SENDING AN EMAIL.

You know how long it takes to go through an address book and BCC a list of people, but using ONE group file for a number of friends, family members, or business associates is quick and easy!

There is an example.txt file in your ..\MM_Data\MM_Groups folder but I will list what to do here as well.

Create your group file as a plain text file:
  • Put every e-mail address on a line by it's own.
  • You can just enter the e-mail address or you can also add the name of the recipient. If you do, you MUST put a space between the e-mail address and the name!
Example:
info@mokummail.nl Joop Blokker
mickey@disney.com Mickey Mouse
someone@somewhere.net Someone
  • You can add as many lines as your provider allows you
to send in one go. Lines preceded by a semi-colon ' ; '
are comments and will not be processed.
(If you have someone in a list that you choose not to send to for awhile, simply preceed that name with a semi-colon.  That way you do not need to remove the name altogether.)
  • Name and save the file to your ..\MM_Data\MM_Groups folder.
    E.g friends.txt
Now when you want to send a message to this group of recipients, you merely click Create Message and choose your address by clicking on the file drop down shown here which will open your Groups folder where you can choose the one you want to use.

Once I create my groups I add them to my address book and preceed them with * which puts them to the top of my list as you see in the picture.  By doing this, you can choose your group right from the address book as well.

One FINAL tip:
If you have many friends who have AOL, you know they do not see our creative mails unless you export them as a .mht file and attach it to a plain message.  If you are sending to many, make a group txt of your AOL friends and you only have to send ONE message out with that file attached, which will reach all of them! ;-))

I do hope that this advice has helped to simplify things for you!

P.S. Did you know that Joop uses the Mokie Group List feature to send this 4M magazine to all our customers?!

Kind regards,
