Message Rules
When you download messages, Mokum Mail stores the .EML files by default in the ...\INBOX folder. However, if the subject of the incoming message contains a GROUP NAME like [MokumCafe] then the file goes automatically into the folder
..\INBOX \[MokumCafe]
This automatic storing of message files may take care of 90% of the incoming messages, but there is more...
Mokum Mail has a simple, yet very effective Message Rules feature. You can tell MM where to store messages coming from a specific e-mail address and/or containing one or more specific words in the Subject Line.
Click in the Main Window on PREFERENCES and in the next window on MESSAGE RULES.
Example 1:
You receive e-mails from your son and you want his mails to be stored in the folder ..\inbox\Friends and Family. Enter his e-mail address in the first line, leave the second line blank and enter the destination folder in the third line. Finally click the ADD button.
Example 2:
Your son and you are both members of the same sports club called the Boston Baked Beans. You don't want the messages about BBB to go into the Friends and Family folder, because the BBB messages should be kept together. You and your son start the subject line of each BBB message with [BBB].
Enter his e-mail address in the first line, enter [BBB] in the second line and define a folder for the BBB messages like this:
SIEVE:
The Message Rules work top-down. This means that the rule for your son's messages about the BBB must come first. The second rule to store all your son's OTHER messages into the 'Friends and Family' folder comes next.
In this way all messages from John about BBB go into the [BBB] folder and all other from him go into the Friends and Family folder.
Domain:
In the rules you can also enter the last part of an e-mail address only e.g. @santa.com
Any santa@santa.com - sales@santa.com - rudolf@santa.com will go to the folder you defined.
SUBJECT LINE ONLY:
Leaving the sender's e-mail address blank and entering a word in the subject line and selecting the destination folder will send all messages that have the word in the subject line to that folder, regardless the sender.
