Black List Feature
Clicking on the BL button in the MM Main window BEFORE you retrieve any message headers...
...will open up your Black List box and show the features available.
- If you choose NOT to use the Black List feature, place a check in the box next to ' Disable the Black List Feature '.
- If you want to enable an extra ' Are you sure? ' when blacklisting an address, then place a check in the box next to ' Ask before blacklisting E-mail address(es) '.
Clicking on the 1st button (View Blacklisted E-mail Addresses file)... Will show you this window in MM notepad:
If you have inadvertently Black Listed someone, here is where you would remove that address.
- Scroll to and find, or use the search field.
- Once found, you can remove it.
- Click the 'Save file' button.
- ...and Exit.
Clicking on the 2nd button (View Blacklisted Domains file)... Will show you this window in MM notepad:
As with the above, here is where you can remove a Blacklisted domain if needed.
- Scroll to and find, or use the search field.
- Remove the one you want.
- Click Save file.
- ...and Exit.
Clicking on the 3rd button (Check Black list files and create a report)... Will show you this window:
Click Start and you will see a report similar to this:
Click the OK button! This window will now open....
At this point, it is time to add any domains to your Black list that have been accumulating with E-mail addresses you have Blacklisted along the way.
NOTE: the number to the left of each domain shows how many messages have been received from that domain...
Most will be from domains which send spam and junk so simply mark in the MOVE column and then a click on the ' Move to Blocked Domains ' button will finish the job!
TIP: You can check mark many or all lines in one go, by dragging your cursor in the "move" column.
TIP: You can always remove one, IF... you include one which you later decide should NOT be in the list!
ALSO... REMEMBER to periodically RUN the report if you are indeed using the Black list feature!
