Log
The Quick Reply/Quick Message window (top right corner) is the place to enable Logging of your Outgoing messages. Place a check mark in the box to the left of the Log button.
When you enable the logging of your Outgoing messages, MM creates the file MM-LOG.TXT in the MM folder. Every outgoing message is added to that file in plain text. This is particularly useful when reviewing which messages you have sent, and to whom.
NOTE: You can, of course, have copies of any sent message saved in your Sent folder but this saves EVERYTHING in the message including pictures, graphics and sound files etc. Thus, that folder is one you will most likely keep cleaned out more often.
Having the Log file enabled makes it easy to keep a permanent record of outgoing messages. At any time you can open the Log by clicking on the Log button (shown above) or by clicking Log from the Main window...
Once opened, the Log shows you in plain text the messages you have sent as well as the login and sending info etc. There is a search field to use when looking for something or someone specific!
MM also keeps you informed about the size of the MM-LOG.TXT file by showing it's size in the 'Message is sent' report when you send a message:
The size of my MM-LOG.TXT file above tells me it is time to zip and save this file and start running a new one! For information on doing this, click here and view the Log Maintenance section.
TIP: You can also have Mokum Mail check the size of your log file and - if the file grew larger than 250 KB, 500 KB, 750 KB or 1 MB - the program will automatically zip the log file and it will let you know the name of the ZIP file and where it is stored. See the Preferences item in the main window.
