Unpack Entire Message (Not in MM LITE)
The 2nd method is UNPACKING a complete message:
You can 'unpack' any message that contains graphics, music or other files. This can be files that are 'embedded' in HTML scripts or files that are 'attached' to an e-mail. This also includes the complete HTML file making it easy to use what someone else has sent!
By default the unpacked files will be placed in a sub-folder 'under' the ..\MM_Data folder. The default name of that sub-folder is \MM_Unpacked. However, you can store unpacked files in any folder.
TIP: It is advised to make a new folder for each unpacked message so all files pertaining to it are together.
*NOTE* MM remembers the folder where you unpacked a message last and that folder name is stored in \windows\MM-data ini so if you click on unpack and the default folder does not pop up, merely browse to it.
In the Preview Window (Plain Text), click on the Unpack Command:
Browse to your ...\MM_Unpacked folder. If you Unpack this message directly into the Unpack folder and NOT a new sub-folder you will first be given the option shown below...
NOTE: When you first click the UNPACK button and arrive at your ...\MM_Unpacked folder, you will have this message pop up if your folder is not empty.
This gives you the option to first clean out old existing files. Clicking YES will automatically send those files to the Recycle bin. Clicking NO, will of course leave them alone. Clicking CANCEL takes you back to the preview window where if you were to immediately click on the EXPLORE Icon, you will be able to see all files within your Unpack folder and can then manually remove those you want. SUB-FOLDERS (with files within) located in your UNPACK folder are NOT affected if you use the YES button.
If you have created a new Sub-folder to unpack to and click OK, you will now see in Explorer your folder and all parts of the message....
Now that you have unpacked a message, you could go to Create Stationery and click on the SCRIPT button and import the HTM file... as we discussed here.
