Installation
Installation Tips:
Unzipping the file.
If you received the installation program as a ZIP file, it is advised to first UNZIP that file in a temporary folder. The result will be an installation program file with the extension .EXE. DO NOT use your desktop to download or unzip the installation program because that easily may confuse you.
Installing the program.
Run the installation program and install the program in a new folder in C:\ e.g. C:\MM If you have installed the freeware LITE version in C:\MM and you decide to register the FULL version, you should install it IN THE SAME FOLDER as where you put the freeware version. All server data and address book records that were created using the LITE version will be preserved and can be used seamlessly in the FULL version. You will, of course, have many more features in the FULL version.
Important!!
You may have set your mailer program to download your mail every X minutes automatically. You are best advised to de-select that option. MM shows you all messages that are waiting for download, so YOU can decide yourself if you really want to receive all or just some messages. If you leave the automatic download 'on' then messages will be stored on your PC and you will not have the option to check and pre-view what is waiting for download...
ALSO: When you have retrieved the list of waiting messages using MM then do NOT download those messages simultaneously with any other e-mail program e.g. O.E.! After that MM will not be able to retrieve messages that have gone...
Note for REGISTERED users:
Once installed, the HTML scripts and Themes will most likely point to stationery image files in sub-folders 'in' the MM program folder. Try to avoid renaming or moving the program folder after the installation. If it becomes necessary, you may have to edit the themes file MM-THEME.DAT which is a plain text file. Changing the path names using search/replace may do the job.
Uninstalling the program
You can un-install the program by running the UNINS000.EXE program that you find in the folder where you installed the program. Or, alternatively, Go to ' Start ' -' Control Panel ' - ' Add\Remove Programs ' and select ' Mokum Mail '.
Icon Tip:
You may also want to drag the desktop icon into the windows task bar; then you have MM available at all times
